Anxiety & Fears
>Some of the many issues that can be addressed through emotional include:- Public Speaking
- Feeling Inadequate (not good enough)
- Phobias
- Fear of Flying
- Fear of Heights
- Fear of Brideges, etc.
- Insomnia
- Pre-/Post- Surgery
Many of us are programmed from a very young age with negative beliefs such as "not being good enough," "not pretty enough," "not smart enough," etc. Fears or Phobias can come from many sources: A fear of spiders, for example, can be taken on from a movie; from a misperception of some kind; or from another person who expressed their fear of spiders. It is the result of some form of emotional trauma that became conditioned at some point in a person's life.
These negative beliefs go deep into our subconscious not only by way of these hurtful experiences, but also by our own negative words and thoughts that continually reinforce the negative beliefs that reside in our subconscious.
Have you noticed how we are affected more profoundly by those negative experiences than the positive ones in our life? As children, we only have to hear, sense or experience criticisms a few times for it to impact heavily us. These criticisms take hold in our subconscious mind at an early age and stay there with life reinforcing them.
The subconscious mind protects us in many ways. There are times when an immediate reaction or the fight/flight response is necessary. Its role as "protector" however often acts on the distorted information and causes our bodies to react as though you were being chased by a lion. Anxiety and fear connected to speaking in front of a group of people, for example, can cause the same kind of bodily responses as that of being chased by a lion.
Reactions can be severe. If the reaction is strong enough you will experience a panic attack with all of its heightened symptoms – breathing becomes shallow, heart races, inability to think clearly, etc. A milder form of anxiety would be a disruption in your emotional body - anxiety, fear, and self-judgment. All of this happens because it is an automatic reaction to those programmed negative beliefs.
Once the negative beliefs are established, they are very difficult to change. Some of you may know that standing in front of a mirror repeating affirmations to change a believe does little good to make the change because once you start saying "I feel confident," the critical factor of the conscious mind raises its ugly head and says "who are you kidding!
"So what is the answer? One answer is to speak directly to the subconscious mind through hypnotherapy. Through deep relaxation of hypnosis, the brain waves slow down to alpha or theta speed where the door between our conscious mind and our subconscious mind opens enough for the new information to enter. In this relaxed state, the subconscious becomes receptive to positive healing suggestions needed to balance and heal your life.
Hypnosis is simply about making a change in the subconscious mind to realign with our conscious goal. Once a positive suggestion goes into the subconscious mind to change the negative one, it has the power to change your self-concept and behaviors. This can be life transformative.
